The American Taliban

The Newsroom finished up their season with yet another astute characterization of... a perfect description of the Tea Party.
"Ideological purity, compromise as weakness, a fundamentalist belief in scriptural literalism, denying science, unmoved by facts, undeterred by new information, a hostile fear of progress, a demonization of education, a need to control women’s bodies, severe xenophobia, tribal mentality, intolerance of dissent and a pathological hatred of the U.S. government. They can call themselves the Tea Party. They can call themselves conservatives and they can even call themselves Republicans, though Republicans certainly shouldn't. But we should call them what they are. The American Taliban."
Brilliant stuff and the right wing is absolutely pissing themselves.

Nazi-fluffer Ryan Robertson of NewsBusters coughs out "anti-American" with such ease yet doesn't for a second discuss how exactly anything on The Newsroom is anti-American. He doesn't have to. The dogs will come when he whistles.

Breitbart-ian hack Christian Toto takes the exact same approach. There are plenty of declarations without any examples. Just deafen the audience with schoolyard bully poetry.

Oh, and no. I'm not going to link to these schmucks.
